My Love, My Cowboys....

"What the hell was that?" I can not count the times I said that last night...drops, misses, mistakes, TOUCHDOWNS... Well like I said previously...can't out right beat 'em? Out score them!! All I can say on that... Here's a little Cowboy and good 'ole Texas humor...

John Madden was in Green Bay to announce a football game one weekend when he noticed a special telephone near the Packers' bench. He asked QB Favre what it was used for and was told it was a hot line to God. John asked if he could use it. Favre replied, 'Sure, but it will cost you $200. John scratched his head, then thought, what the heck, I could use some help picking games. He pulled out his wallet and paid $200. John's picks were perfect that week.

The next week, John was in Indianapolis when he noticed that same kind of phone on the Colts bench. He asked what the telephone was for and Manning told him, 'It's a hot line to God if you want to use it, it will cost you $500.' Recalling the previous week, John pulled out his wallet and made the call. John's picks were perfect again that week.

Last weekend, John was in Dallas, when he noticed the same kind of telephone by the Dallas' bench. He asked Tony Romo, 'Is that the hot line to God?' Tony said, 'Yes, and if you want to use it, it will cost you 50 cents.' John looked incredulously at Romo and said, 'Wait a second,I just paid $200 in Green Bay and $500 in Indianapolis to use the same phone to God! Why do the Cowboys only charge 50 cent?

Tony replied, 'Because in Dallas, it's a local call...

Welcome to God's Country.'.................

Go Cowboys! Looking good. New Year...Consistent team, amazing QB...what? did I say that out loud? Yes, finally. AMAZING QB.

Ohhh, those mighty Cowboys....

I expected a little more for Thanksgiving entertainment from the Boys and Jets. Oh well, sometimes you have to win big.

Since I can't say much about that game I will take this time to say that I am thankful to my family for so much support they have given me over the past year. It's been difficult, and sometimes I am sure I have been unbearable, but I appreciate each and every one of you guys. Doug, Lisa & kiddos, everyone needs that "family role model" and you guys are mine. Momma and Jer, thank you, thank you, thank you. For all those nights spent with me, your worries and most importantly, your hugs and love. Arvisu Family, Vivis, Vane, China...You all make the best addition to any person's life and I am truly blessed and thankful to have you all in mine. Last but certainly not least...my babies, Candra, Crue and Zan, you guys are my everything. Precious. I love you so very much. I find myself missing my Grandpa and Grandma Goldsmith this week. I live close to the town in which they lived all my life and pass their graves every day. To be able to talk with them at this time in my life would be so helpful. Just makes me realize I have to be more grateful to those here and that is why I felt the need to put it in writing. THANKS, THANKS AND THANKS!! I have the BEST family and friends and would not be where I am today without them.

Now with that said....

Thursday, 7:15pm, Texas Stadium, Cowboys vs. Packers. Do I need to comment? Well of course I do! This is supposedly the "NFC Armageddon" fixin' to take place Thursday night. "Mirror" teams almost. No doubt the only way to beat them will be with Favre. He has to be pressured. ALL game. Not a few times....time and time again. So Ware and Ellis you better suit up to play. So, we know the Cowboys are going to score their points like all year has proved and we know the special teams will also show up to shut down that new superstar Grant. But if Favre has the time...he will definitely pick them Boys apart. Pressure. Solid, Constant...Pressure. Coach Phillips said it best..."The most I'm concerned with is their passing game, Favre can light you up, and he's done it through the years." But funny thing is this..Packers are also probably saying the very same thing about Romo. Better contain him...Better control him...both of these QB can get away from you quickly. So, If we can't outright BEAT them..we had best out score them. They better play their hearts out because this will be the game of the season I think.

New Year...Best Team.

Romo to T.O. the Cowboy Way

After Sunday's BIG mistakes and bigger finishes...Romo to TO..again, again, again, wait one more time...Romo to TO...enough said. Come Thanksgiving my hopes are to set the passing and receiving franchise records in the Cowboy history and hopefully along with those illustrious records will come yet another win. Praying Gurode will show up to pay attention, was he ADHD last game or what. All you could do was watch the mess ups and wonder, ok, how is Romo going to recover that? Also...Roy Williams, cover your guys! This isn't highschool ball...damn. A beautiful thing to see unfold, major screw ups (the "Cowboy Way") yet another major "fix" again the COWBOY WAY!

Chato Vato

Chato was hit last night by a car and after a trip to Denton County Animal ER the vet was not able to save him. I am not usually emotional over pets but he was truly MY dog and I will miss him so much. He had so much personality. Thank you to the girl who helped me after he was hit, I believe her name was Tiffany and to everyone at the ER. They were quick, attentive, courteous and so so kind. Thanks so much.

Shut up and put up....

Well those New Yorkers were doing what they do best...talk a lot of crap. Granted, I was a bit nervous..BUT, I have that Cowboy confidence. I watch a lot of the sports shows and listen to the radio and keep waiting to hear some cockiness from the Cowboy players. Nothing. I have not really heard or seen anything. This team, this CLASSY team is out there pretty much saying "shut up and put it". These city boys (like the philly boys) just can't believe what this Texas Cowboy team will do to you when you think you have answers to their playbook. Offensively or defensively. TO, Witten, Crayton, Ware, Flo.... bring it... watching the game last night reminded me of the NE game only difference is WE were just that good. No matter what, we had answers. Yes, we also had mistakes...but big answers makes up for those little mishaps. You know today those that were talking about how great the Giant defense is and the critics (mostly idiots) who said it will be another game like NE. Now what? Nothing? Silence? Back tracking...making up. They said that the 'boys didn't have what it took to go to NY and take this win. Well the Cowboys went to NY and showed they did have what it took and about 11 points more. So now the 'Boys are back in town... One more team down... Half way through the season and looking stronger by the game. New Year, Great Team.

The NFC East goes through whom?...

Sweet Sweet win. Go to Philly and win big. Nothing but skill was shown yesterday in the cheesesteak capital. It was good they have their food because yesterday they needed something..anything...else to brag on. All I heard the week before was how tough philly is, how mean, the fans are so distracting...now, lets talk "tough". "This all became apparent the closer the game crept toward halftime. The Cowboys were dominating up front. Why? Well, they made those lightning quick Eagles defensive ends play the run. You kidding me, those skinny 265-270-pound guys were going to stand up against these big ol Cowboys tackles, not to mention Leonard Davis' 354 pounds at guard and Andre Gurode's girth in the middle?" ..too funny..."Get this: Trent Cole, who led the NFL with nine sacks coming into the game, finished with four tackles, but nary a hit on Romo, let alone a sack. Hey Trent, did you introduce yourself to Flozell Adams? Jevon Kearse, his name didn't even appear on the defensive tackle sheet. He had nothing. Shut out. Wonder if he had met Marc Colombo before?" AND, T.O. has to be feeling good to return after last years game and not only take home a win but play some ball and remind those exmates that this is HIS time, again. I wonder if McNabb was hating life? Witten is a "Man's Man". Wow...was all I could say. Thing is, they were all "tough" yesterday, mental and physical. They definitely brought their best game and looked so good doing it. Life is good, Texans (and those other faithful Cowboy fans) must be lighting those candles and living right...

New Year...New Team...anyone want to argue that?
