Football Wisdom...
I love this time of year. Kiddos in school, everyone, everywhere is playing football. Life is right once again....
Vince always said the best things...but here's some variety...
"Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that."
- Bill Shankly
"Gentleman, this is a football."
- Vince Lombardi
"Confidence is a very fragile thing."
Joe Montana
"Football incorporates the two worst elements of American society: violence punctuated by committee meetings."
George Will
"But I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, his greatest fulfillment of all he holds dear, is the moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle - victorious."
Vince Lombardi
"On game day all tailgates are banquet tables” - Miller sign
"It’s not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog."
Archie Griffen, two-time Heisman winner
"What about football? Is it a sport or a concussion?"
Jim Murray, L.A. Times
