Sueña

Just an observation...why is it that people are so guarded when it comes to affairs of the heart. They claim to be afraid of being hurt when in reality, because of their actions or non-actions, they hurt the ones who truly love them? Just a question...a comment...more random thoughts... Sometimes I should probably keep these thoughts to myself but hell, it's me, it's my blog and I am not the type to do that. We are continuing the great house hunt this weekend...fun fun. Ladies, I think drinks will be involved, maybe more cumbia dancing and that combined always leads to someone breaking out and videoing actions...we might have to post those some day.

The Shack In The Woods

Ok, Friday we all get home have a few drinks then decide to go back and check out the shack. Apparantly someone has been using it from time to time because everything except the bed was filthy. There was a big lizard running around that was alarming to me. Well, only to me because Sarah and Candra are two of the biggest wimps in the world and wouldn't "explore" with me. NOT ACCEPTABLE ladies!! Crue, you are a trooper, my little partner in crime. At least I know Crue would help if I had gotten shot...again, NOT ACCEPTABLE ladies! Here's the footage...

Mav Business

The Mavs start regular 06-07 season on Nov. 2. Here's the schedule of pre-season games. This is a great pic of the guys. This is their time. I am so much more hopeful for this team than my Cowboys. But good luck to both all the same. Here's the Cowboy schedule. By-the-way, all this Romo hype...it's just that..HYPE. He's not the go to guy to win superbowls...come on folks. I don't think he'll ever be a "great" like Aikman or McNabb. Hell I don't even think he's as talented as Henson. Big mistake there. But who the heck knows why the Cowboy organization ever does what it does it's never practical. Doesn't even work for the most part.... gotta love "the Boys" anyways.

"Why would you do that, it's not like we are friends or anything..."

Sarah & IThis is a quote from Sarah, she told me this after I had bought her something and wouldnt let her pay me back (it was like a drink or something). Now, we had been working together for several months. As you can imagine, I was shocked she'd say that. Especially to ME, the nicest, most giving person in Cooke/Denton County...almost...ok, maybe not, but sounded good. Anyways, months later we are almost inseperable. This photo was taken Friday night before the concert. The video really sucks but it's all we could do.

Now onto the next subject. Our homeless neighbors... Last night Sarah and I were bored and decided to go back into the woods/pasture/heavy brush that is right outside our door (we are in the back of the apartments). Not to worry, we were armed with, well nothing. Always thinking on the side of safety. Now I realize why my mother was always so nervous when I was growing up. Not much changes, huh Momma? The first "site" we come upon you could see oil from when they cooked, an old pot, some scattered clothes and a little cooking stove of sorts. Then onto the second site. Well, this one was more of a habitat. There was a roof which you can kinda see in the video. I wouldn't get real close because we heard movement and was somewhat frieghtened. But this place was positioned back up in some really thick brush and had an entryway. We wanted to check it out but common sense told us, not right now. Today, common sense not being as good as yesterday, we will revisit the site and take reinforcements (Candra) and because that might not be enough we will have our cell phones as weapons/protection. We really need to get a life huh? This is so Blairwitch Project-like.

"It's Just a Game..."

I was told last night, "It's just a game, and not even a real one at that". Well my first comment to that is, DON'T EVEN TALK TO ME. Secondly, if there is a quarterback and at least one person to catch a ball, then it's a GAME. Next, lookin better than expected. Yes, it's still early to really see what will happen against a team that has dept. But, I am hopeful like previous years. I feel like this will be a GREAT season. As most know I am not the biggest of Bledsoe fans, but he looked clean, crisp and ready. REFRESHING!! No drama, no bitching, hey...not even injured. T.O. at some point needs to suck it up and play ball, with NO drama, NO bitching and healthy. The nicest thing about this blog is that I get to say what I want about who I want and I can control what everyone says...mmmmmm, if I only had that control on some of the media coverage....Thanks Vivis for the pleasant game environment.

INTOCABLE

INTOCABLE was simply awesome. It's amazing to me how this Grupo sounds better live than on cd. Maybe the visual helps. Needless to say they sounded great and looked even better. It was crowded, as expected, but I had the best time. Vivis, you should have been with me...

I am ready to see the Cowboys in action again tonight. They are shaping up I think and what's the freakin deal with TO. Is he holding out until regular season? Is he really that hurt? I want to give him the benefit of the doubt but now I am having doubts myself...

Here's a video in remembrance of the other "boys"...

BACK TO SCHOOL

What has happened to the time? I watched my little girl/woman get into her car and go to her first day of her senior year this morning. My son, a junior. My baby baby Zan, a 7th grader. I am too young for all this and today, all I have is this picture in my mind of the kids singing "I'm Like a Bird". The kids sang that song every day for a longggggg time. I thought they'd never find a new one. They were so precious and Zan didn't know all the words so they would just make some up. My babies are almost grown and gone...what ever will I do with my time.... Candra, Crue and Zannie, I love you guys! You are my inspiration. Have a great year guys and LEARN SOMETHING!!

Football Wisdom...

I love this time of year. Kiddos in school, everyone, everywhere is playing football. Life is right once again....

Vince always said the best things...but here's some variety...

"Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that."
- Bill Shankly

"Gentleman, this is a football."
- Vince Lombardi

"Confidence is a very fragile thing."
Joe Montana

"Football incorporates the two worst elements of American society: violence punctuated by committee meetings."
George Will

"But I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, his greatest fulfillment of all he holds dear, is the moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle - victorious."
Vince Lombardi

"On game day all tailgates are banquet tables” - Miller sign

"It’s not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog."
Archie Griffen, two-time Heisman winner

"What about football? Is it a sport or a concussion?"
Jim Murray, L.A. Times

Cowboys and more...

The Cowboys had a decent showing, but in all who the hell knows what will really happen. Kinda hard to get a glimps into the season when none of your frist string plays so still hard to see how our offensive line is going to stack up. Hey though, how about Romo? Not too bad. Some potential there too I think...

As for the rest of the weekend, missed Intocable. I was completely disappointed. However, there is redemption, they will be at Far West, Viernes 18 de Agosto. We will NOT be missing that one. In anticipation of Intocable here's yet another video...This is really Kumbia Kings but it features Intocable and it's a little different for Monday.

Vivis...

Vivis, Gracias para todo. Tequiero. Everytime I hear this song I think of you...

Now as for this weekend, we were supposed to have to work but now Sarah apparantly feels that she can have most everything finished up by this afternoon and I can do what's left on Saturday so that she and Candra can go to E. Texas. I hope they do go, it will be good for them to go on a short road trip. Be careful, and call often as you know I always answer my phone...lol. I will miss you! (Sarah, quit reading this and get to work)

Last, but definitely not leaset...THE COWBOYS...Saturday, 9:00. Regular season, 30 days @ Jacksonville. So so so ready for this season.

This Suds For You

Yesterday we were out and about and come across this place called "This Suds For You". Now, I moved from Gainesville to get away from the backwoods country lifestyle. Mmmm...not sure moving 30 minutes south was quite enough. This place is a laundry mat AND a bar in one. Fully equipped laundry mat and the bar part had pool tables, video games and of course a bar. I don't know why this was so surprising to me but I found it odd. Are these places common? Video time...

and for Sarah...

and for me...

Getting you back

I had to turn off my phone. Candra and Sarah are evidently bored and decided to call a half dozen times. I didnt answer and didnt check my phone until I was in the car on my way home. I start listening to my messages. Picture this, me (not a good driver to start with) and on the phone, with the radio up (Duelo) and just half ass listening to the messages. #1, "Mom, it's me, answer"... #2, "Mom, call us"..., #3, "Mom, come home...blah blah, Sarah is bad, blah blah, something about sick and sneezing and being really bad". Well since I have all the background I wasnt really listening so I go into panick mode and dont even finish the messages and call home. Well, Sarah is fine as was Candra...they were just messing around but on the way home I started thinking, maybe I should actually answer my cell more. Hell NO, lol. Now ladies, you got me, you scared me...paybacks are hell...here's a video

Another weekend...

As you all know, I was recently stripped of making any weekend plans. Well, I am going to forcefully take back my event planning position. This weekend was just a little too slow and so unlike me. SOOOOOO, in light of having WAY too much rest and time on my idle little hands, Sarah and Candra and all those others who are dumb enough to follow me...this weekend will be MUCH MUCH different. Here's a little something retro to get my thoughts flowing for the up and coming "fun".
